Athletics Day

Well done to everyone who participated in the school Athletics day on Friday! It was so nice to see everyone dressed in their house colours giving every event their best shot! Thank you to the parents who helped out, and also to the parents who came along to support their children. Here are some photos that Lynn Fothergill took of our students. More photos can be found on the school Facebook page.

Botanical Gardens Trip

On Wednesday 23rd September, we went to the Botanical Gardens as part of our plant inquiry topic. We learnt about the life-cycle of plants, how to plant seeds, and how to plant small vegetables. We also looked at some worm farms, and learnt about worms and what they like to eat.
After lunch, we went on a treasure hunt around the Gardens, looking for various plants and vegetables. We had a fantastic day!

Making Pikelets!

On Friday, we made Pikelets. We learnt that a recipe is something that tells us how to bake or cook something. We talked about the 'ingredients' and the 'method' part of a recipe. We learnt that first we had to check that we had all of the ingredients before we start cooking. We also learnt that we had to follow the recipe in order. After we ate our delicious pikelets with jam, we wrote wonderful stories about 'How to make Pikelets'.
